BALI Food Review: Breakfast at THE FAT TURTLE

POST SERIES!

Breakfast at THE FAT TURTLE.

Serving up delicious all day breakfast options, The Fat Turtle is one of the lesser-known cafes in Seminyak, yet it is one of my personal favourites as the food here is so good!

THE FAT TURTLE, BALI

Tucked away beside Deus Ex Machina, The Fat Turtle is located on Jalan Petitenget, around the bend as you head north from Sea Circus and the other popular cafes in the central area of Seminyak.

This cosy cafe creates the perfect space to slow down and enjoy a nourishing breakfast before heading to the nearby beach clubs for the day.

We were seated at the outdoor setting to enjoy the morning sun, however, there is ample indoor seating in the air-conditioned space for those wishing to escape the heat. The tables are assembled from vintage sewing machine stands and the space is also adorned with beautiful wall art and interesting feature lighting.

The best kept secret, though, is the food itself. The delicate plating and balance of flavours is a compliment to the chef and makes this cute little cafe a great choice for those wanting restaurant quality choices on a family-friendly or backpacker budget.

I opted for the red velvet pancakes, which were absolutely divine and I’d even go say far as to say they are best in Bali! For a double hit of sweet goodness, I also ordered the red velvet latte, which was just a delicious. Meanwhile, my friend ordered an iced cappuccino and after tasting it, I had to try one too. However, for those craving something savoury there are also lots of choices, from smashed avo, eggs your way on toast, a salt and pepper omelette and fresh croissants.

My best friend recommended this cute little café and we visited for breakfast one morning whilst holidaying here.

It was one of her favourite choices for breakfast with the crew when we used to fly to Bali each week for work. The food here is delicious and whilst I had spotted it on previous trip, I am disappointed I didn’t stop by sooner.

Be sure to add THE FAT TURTLE to your Brunch in Bali BUCKET LIST!
