Brunch at CRUMB AND COASTER.
Locally owned and operated, Crumb and Coaster is serving up its very own coffee beans and fresh Balinese grown ingredients in an experience that embodies the culture of the local people and the produce they cultivate.
I’ve always avoided Kuta when I travel to Bali, partly because of the limited healthy food experiences in the epicentre of the island’s tourist haven.
However, Crumb and Coaster is challenging that and I was pleasantly surprised when a fellow Flight Attendant and I stumbled upon this hidden gem, whilst wandering down Poppies Lane 2 after shopping the markets. Crumb and Coaster is nestled down the side street, opposite Paperboy Cafe.
In fact, the food here was so good that I actually returned again whilst holidaying in Bali a couple of years later with another Flight Attendant friend. When I first visited the dining area was small, so I pleasantly surprised to see that it has since been renovated into a beautiful, expansive space filled with live plants, creating an organic feel.
We stopped in for brunch and were both quite hungry, so I opted for the Sweet Corn Fritters and my friend ordered the Wagyu Classic Beef Burger, served with fries and a selection of dipping sauces.
It was particularly hot this day too, so we both had a Cold Brew Iced Coffee, which not only cured my caffeine craving, but was also very refreshing. I loved the taste of their local bean roast, which was strong and smooth. My friend also tried the Bali Berry, which is a blend of strawberries, lychees, lime and mint infused in soda.
As we were leaving we got chatting with some fellow tourists at a nearby table who had fallen in love with this café. They had been dining here daily during their stay and we all agreed that this is one of the best food experiences in Kuta.
