Brunch at GROCER AND GRIND.
Like Sisterfields, GROCER AND GRIND was once a long-standing institution in the Bali Cafe Culture scene. Sadly it has now closed, but if you would like to reminisce read my review below.
Grocer and Grind is convenient to access, with ample parking for scooters at the front of the store. It is centrally located in the heart of Seminyak, close to Seminyak Square and the water garden, complete with live goldfish, provides a welcoming entrance for those wanting to escape the heat!
Once inside, this modern restaurant is large and open plan, so it is not difficult to find a table. The timber décor is minimalist in design, with large artwork decorating the walls to draw attention.
Welcoming Westerners and targeted at ex-pats seeking good coffee, Grocer and Grind offers its very own organic six-bean blend.
Renowned as the first of its kind in Bali, they not only offer great coffee but dishes from all around the world, drawing inspiration from The Middle East, Mexico, Australia and Mexico.
The crew and I stopped by for a late brunch one day whilst on a layover in Bali. I ordered a steak sandwich with a side of wedges. The food was simple, yet satisfying and whilst the store design probably won’t ‘wow’ you, the menu is extensive.
